About The Position

As our Trauma Injury Prevention Coordinator, you will contribute significantly to our mission by leading proactive efforts to minimize traumatic injuries and support vulnerable patients. Your role elevates community safety and integrates with our overall trauma care strategy. Every day you will oversee the comprehensive planning, development, and oversight of the Injury Prevention Program. You will act as the primary liaison to community groups, schools, government agencies, and regional coalitions, ensuring program alignment with ACS requirements. You will also develop and deliver targeted educational content, conduct community outreach, and analyze injury data to inform prevention strategies. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong leadership, program management, and communication skills, vital for coordinating across diverse community and healthcare stakeholders. A deep commitment to public health, injury prevention, and patient safety is essential, along with the ability to meet ACS verification standards and manage complex community-based programs. Administrative duties 25% Job responsibilities and Functions 50% Data Processes: The primary responsibilities for the Trauma Process Improvement Registrar's role encompass all aspects of database model. accurately identifies all patients for entry into the hospital trauma registry. abstract data from the medical records of approximately using electronic systems and including trauma patient chart review. Complete and verifies for accuracy all data collected as a requirement for a Level II trauma center. Assigns, grade and scores all injuries accurately utilizing the AIS and ICD-9 system. Assigns accurate E-codes, collects and codes data on all procedures and complications. Maintains a paperless data process. Optimizes all available electronic resources available to support the trauma data process. Ensures that all data is validated and maintains a concurrent and comprehensive data validation process. Data Reporting: Provide monthly, annual and ad-hoc reports to the TPD meeting all required deadlines. Submit the required data elements to the County trauma registry, American College of Surgeons Trauma Quality Improvement Program (ACS/TQIP), and the National Trauma Data Base (NTDB) as required. Submits data to approved local, regional, and national studies as approved by the TPD. Computer Hardware and Software: Maintain the database for the trauma patients including all hardware and software. Monitor the security of data to ensure the integrity and reliability of database systems. Demonstrated ability in the uses of computer hardware, trauma registry software and ensuring preventative and routine maintenance for a database registry. Abstract data from database software into spreadsheet formats. Participates in all audits, site surveys, and other special events as directed by the TPD. Participates in local, regional, state and national trauma data projects, initiatives and meetings as approved by the TPD.

Requirements

  • Current California State BoardRegistered Nursing License
  • Minimum of 3-5 years clinical traumanursing experience, e.g., emergencydepartment, operating room, critical careintensive care unit
  • Registered Nurse: CA
  • Basic Life Support - CPR
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • Fire Safety, within 90 Days
