About The Position

The RN, Transport will function as a team member while upholding the mission, vision and values of Cook Children's Health Care System. This person will work in collaboration with RTs and Paramedics, in providing cares to the Neonatal and Pediatric population in all modes of transport, including ground ambulance, rotor wing and fixed wing aircraft. This person must possess critical thinking skills while practicing sound judgement throughout the transport process in varied settings. The RN, Transport will be self-motivated and demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of 3 years recent Neonatal and/or Pediatric ICU and/or Pediatric Emergency Department experience or current Neonatal/Pediatric Transport experience.
• Current license to practice professional Nursing in the State of Texas.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current PALS certification or must obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Current NRP certification or must obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Current ACLS certification or must obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Current TNCC certification or Department approved equivalent or must obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Current STABLE certification or obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Current EMT or Paramedic license in the State of Texas or must obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Current Advanced Certification in area of practice and/or as approved by CCMC or must obtain within 24 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with RTs and Paramedics to provide care to Neonatal and Pediatric patients during transport.
• Utilize critical thinking skills and sound judgement in varied transport settings.
• Demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills.
