The RN Transport Team consists of highly experienced PCU RNs responsible for transporting patients requiring cardiac monitoring throughout BUMCP for tests, procedures. They also respond to PCU Higher Level of Care (HLOC) needs; a regulatory requirement for any patient whose condition is declining, requiring a nurse with that skill level to be at bedside. The RN Transport Team utilizes knowledge and critical thinking skills necessary for safe handoff, prioritization, and transport of patients from nursing units to procedural areas. The RN Transport Team provides for increased safety on nursing units by enabling the staff nurse to provide stabilized nursing care within the unit by not being pulled away from his/her patient assignment to transport one patient to a testing area for a prolonged period. Schedule: Full-time day shift position, 3 12-hour shifts per week. Holiday and weekend availability is required. You will also have the opportunity to utilize our self-scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
