About The Position

The RN position in the Transitional Care Unit at Brendan House focuses on providing patient-centered nursing care to enhance the quality of life and promote optimal recovery. The role involves practical nursing duties, including assessment, treatment, care planning, and evaluation of medical care, within a skilled nursing environment. The position is day shift oriented and offers various incentives and benefits to support the nursing staff.

Requirements

  • Current Montana RN license or multi-state compact license with authorization to practice in Montana.
  • BSN degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a similar position within a medical setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, medical terminology, and principles of nursing practice.
  • Healthcare Provider CPR and/or BLS certification required.
  • Understanding of confidentiality laws, including HIPAA guidelines.
  • Knowledge of medical office equipment, supplies, and clinical laboratory methods.
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to set priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience in assigned area(s) preferred.
  • Additional certifications may be required as applicable to assigned area(s).

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and coordinates individualized nursing care for patients using the nursing process.
  • Maintains nursing standards of care and responds to changing workloads and patient conditions.
  • Transcribes and implements provider orders and treatments accurately and efficiently.
  • Consistently problem solves issues affecting patient care.
  • Exhibits thorough practice of infection control procedures as applicable.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and reports changes in patients' physical and mental conditions.
  • Documents all patient encounters according to organizational standards.
  • Provides individual instruction and education to patients and families regarding health needs.
  • Assesses and anticipates patient needs and coordinates necessary interventions.
