Opening its doors in 2013 and expanding in 2017, this state-of-the-art acute care facility has 177 patient rooms and offers a wide variety of services to meet community needs. The Telemetry/Neurology Unit at Tradition Hospital specializes in the monitoring of various neurological conditions and diagnoses. Many of these patients are post-stroke patients who have been downgraded from the PCU or ICU. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare education as needed. Requirements

Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross - if you do not hold this certification, you will need to obtain it within one year of hire
NIH Stroke Scale Certification - if you do not hold this certification, you will need to obtain it within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocol.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families, considering cultural issues and other special concerns.
Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.
