The position involves utilizing the nursing process effectively in patient care, ensuring accurate and current patient records as part of Nursing Performance Improvement (PI) activities. The nurse is responsible for documenting patient assessments throughout their hospital admission, which includes physical, psychological, and social dimensions, as well as discharge plans. The role requires summarizing assessment data and initiating care plans while communicating pertinent information to allied patient care providers. The nurse must demonstrate proficiency in the role of charge nurse and in Computerized Nursing Informatics. Additionally, the nurse serves as a resource person for patient care, staff orientation, and teaching. Participation in unit staff meetings, mandatory programs, and obtaining credits for Patient Care Assessment Committee (PCAC) is expected. The nurse will also assess personal learning needs, maintain documentation of professional development, and stay updated on relevant techniques and regulations. Representing the hospital in the community while maintaining patient confidentiality is crucial, as is providing service excellence to all stakeholders. Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
