About The Position

Responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to groups of patients using a multidisciplinary approach to the nursing process. This position performs observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care, ensuring alignment with physician and patient expectations. In addition, this position administers medications and treatments as prescribed, educates patients and families about health conditions and self-care strategies, and maintains accurate documentation. Additionally, this role collaborates with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and supervises and teaches other personnel in the theory and performance of nursing acts. Responsibilities for this role include utilizing substantial specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skill based on applied practices of psychological, biological, physical, and social sciences.

Requirements

  • Associate's of Nursing Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) Required
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) Required
  • Kansas Registered Nurse (RN) Required
  • Previous OR RN experience

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on physical, emotional, and social health status.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings, setting goals and outlining interventions.
  • Ensure safe and effective handoff communications by using standardized communication tools during shift changes and patient transfers.
  • Provide discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition from hospital to home or another care setting, addressing the patient's needs and resources.
