About The Position

Surgical RN Must have all certifications and license. Days shift m-f Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgery Traveler to join our surgical services team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. The RN will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective patient care in the operating room and perioperative setting. Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to surgical patients in the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans. Prepare patients for surgery by verifying medical history, consent forms, allergies, lab results, and surgical site. Assist surgeons and surgical teams during operative procedures as a circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse (if applicable). Maintain sterile field and ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols. Monitor patient condition and vital signs throughout the perioperative process. Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and treatments as ordered. Collaborate with anesthesia providers and surgical staff to ensure patient safety. Document all patient care activities accurately and timely in the EMR system. Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures, recovery, and discharge instructions. Respond effectively to emergency situations in the operating room. Ensure proper handling of surgical instruments, specimens, and equipment. Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Required Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room / Surgery RN experience required. Previous travel nursing experience preferred. Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through AHA. Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification through AHA preferred/required based on facility. Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing standards , sterile technique, and surgical procedures. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment. Preferred Qualifications CNOR certification preferred. Experience in multi-specialty surgical procedures such as: Orthopedic General Surgery ENT Urology GYN Neurosurgery Cardiovascular / Vascular Familiarity with various surgical equipment and EMR systems. Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
