About The Position

Corewell Health is offering up to $20,000 as a sign on bonus for this opportunity. The unit features 22 OR’s, 2 Cysto Rooms, a Procedural Room, a Vascular Hybrid OR, and an Open Heart program. Surgical specialties include General, Gyn, Urology, Robotic, Vascular, Thoracic, ENT, Orthopedics, Total Joint, Spine, Neurosurgery, Plastics, and Podiatry. Dearborn Hospital, recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the “Top 10 Hospitals” in Michigan, is a major teaching and research hospital that has been advancing care since 1953. It operates as a Level II trauma center and has received accolades for clinical excellence and innovation in orthopedics, neurosciences, women’s health, heart & vascular, and cancer care. The Registered Nurse (RN) is expected to utilize the framework of the nursing process, adhering to the ANA scope of practice, to deliver professional nursing care. This involves incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and manage patient discharge. The RN provides high-quality patient care under the guidance of the Nurse Leader, following Corewell Health policies and procedures, and understands the significant impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. Furthermore, the RN collaborates with patients and their families, integrating their input and goals into the care plan, and develops effective teaching strategies for them, documenting all education and learning appropriately in the health record.

Requirements

  • Associates in Nursing Required
  • Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
  • Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of acute care RN experience preferred
  • OR circulator experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge.
  • Provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures.
  • Recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes.
  • Partners with and utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care.
  • Develops teaching strategies for patient/family.
  • Documents education and learning appropriately in health record.
