About The Position

We are hiring a Registered Nurse to join our Surgery team at Spartanburg Mary Black! This is a PRN position - 7am to 3:20pm as needed. Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse demonstrates thorough knowledge of therapeutic Perioperative patient care, patient advocacy, clinical pathways/care maps, team dynamics, hospital systems, and serves as a resource for the registered nurse and support staff. Reports to their respective Perioperative Department Manager and to the Director of Perioperative Services. Collaborates with leadership in developing and implementing the Spartanburg Medical Center culture, Vision, Mission and goals.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Associate Degree.
• At least one or more year(s) of service within a Perioperative Department field of nursing.
• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure permitting practice in South Carolina.
• American Heart Association Certification as required by the Perioperative Department.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Master of Science in Nursing.
• Two or more year(s) of service within a Perioperative Department field of nursing.
• Hold a certification with the Perioperative Department field of nursing.
• Active member of the Perioperative Department Nursing associates such as: AORN, ASPAN, SGNA, ARIN.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of therapeutic Perioperative patient care.
• Advocate for patients and ensure their needs are met.
• Utilize clinical pathways and care maps effectively.
• Collaborate with team members and support staff.
• Report to the Perioperative Department Manager and Director of Perioperative Services.
• Assist in developing and implementing the culture, vision, mission, and goals of Spartanburg Medical Center.
