The Sanford Luverne Surgery team position allows flexibility for busy days and to accommodate other staff vacation or LOA's. The RN role in peri-operative setting: helping with admitting, recovering (phase I & II), and circulating during surgical and GI cases. An applicant for this position will perform a variety of duties in the peri-operative setting ranging from pre-op assessment/admission and teaching, circulating duties during procedures, and phase I and phase II recovery for patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures in GI, General, OB/GYN, Urology, and Ophthalmology surgeries. They must possess the skills and knowledge necessary to be proficient in all areas of assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation as well as a sense of responsibility and high degree of knowledge for maintaining sterile techniques and transmission-based precautions. This position also requires the ability to operate various operating room supplies/equipment, able to type and use the computers, and maintain strict confidentiality. Candidates must be team orientated, have open communication, a positive attitude, available and ready to help each other and adaptable. Prior experience preferred but not required.
