About The Position

The Registered Nurse, Operating Room at McBride Orthopedic Hospital is responsible for delivering direct patient care during the intra-operative period of surgical procedures. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of surgical practices, patient safety, and the ability to anticipate the needs of both patients and the surgical team. The RN will also serve as a preceptor for new staff and students, ensuring a safe and efficient surgical environment.

Requirements

• Current unencumbered license by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing to practice as a Registered Nurse.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Willingness to obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Previous Operating Room experience preferred.
• Computer skills and knowledge of CPSI.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care during the intra-operative period.
• Provide a safe and caring environment for surgical patients.
• Anticipate the needs of the patient and surgical team.
• Rapidly initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Evaluate the safety, cost, and outcomes of patient services.
• Circulate proficiently and independently in the operating room.
• Teach and act as a preceptor to new employees, students, or visitors.
