About The Position

As an RN at Quincy Medical Group in the Surgery & GI department, you will play a critical role in supporting patients of all ages and backgrounds undergoing surgical procedures related to the gastrointestinal (GI) system. With a strong focus on pre-admission and assessment care, scheduling, documentation, and patient and family education. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with skilled surgeons and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced surgical setting.

Requirements

  • Current RN license in Illinois required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience preferred.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required; PALS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-admission assessments and documentation for ASC patients, ensuring accuracy in the EMR and effective communication with patients, physicians, anesthesiologists, and care teams.
  • Provide safe, organized, and compassionate care using clinical equipment efficiently and reporting any issues promptly.
  • Maintain compliance with required certifications and actively pursue ongoing professional development to stay current with nursing practices.
  • Participate in policy development, supply inventory support, and quality improvement initiatives across the ASC.
  • Conduct post-op patient follow-up calls and uphold patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment by mentoring new staff, assisting colleagues, and participating in meetings and in-service trainings.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, adhere to policies and infection control standards, and demonstrate professionalism in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Assist with additional patient care needs to support overall department operations.
