About The Position

MUSC Mullins Nursing Center is looking for an experienced nurse to join their Leadership Team! Geriatric Nursing experience referred. Awesome state health benefits and retirement. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care based on established clinical nursing practices and in line with the organizations mission and vision. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient resident care delivery and the achievement of desired resident outcomes. The RN Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the nursing department to ensure that facility policies and procedures are followed. Supervises the staff to ensure quality care and satisfaction of the residents. Such supervision must be in compliance with current local, state, and federal standards that govern the facility. Ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. Must be flexible with duty hours. Reviews work performance of nursing personnel to determine conformance to recognized standards. Works together with staff to maintain compliance with the hydration program, weights/re-weights, bowel and bladder program, behavioral management, fall prevention/safety and restraints and other aspects of to maintain or enhance the quality of life. -Responsible for compliance with overall nursing practice standards of the area. -Responsible for compliance with standards during assigned shift -Uses established principles of delegation and supervision to direct the activities of all licensed and non-licensed care givers and support staff in the delivery of resident care during their assigned shift -Uses independent judgment to ensure optimal delivery of resident care and appropriate use of available resources. Requirements

  • Must have expert knowledge in field of practice
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in the post-acute care facility
  • Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the nursing department
  • Must perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: nursing management, supervisory responsibilities, patient care, patient rights, and safety and sanitation
  • Maintains professional working relationships with all care team members, vendors, etc.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
  • Must understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
  • Actively implements the compliance program and completion of mandatory coursework and ensures l 00% participation by department staff
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs. floor to waist, lift 35 lbs. waist to shoulder, lift and carry 35 lbs., and push/pul1 35 lbs.
  • Must possess an associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
  • Must be currently licensed/registered in applicable State.
  • Must maintain an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing throughout employment
  • Must have two (2) years' nursing experience.
  • Must have CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation.
  • CPR certification must remain current during employment.

  • Geriatric Nursing experience preferred.
