About The Position

Harbor’s Edge is a premier 5-star, resort-style Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located alongside the beautiful harbor in Norfolk, Virginia. Our community consists of 300 Independent Living Residential Units, a 33-bed (Medicare/private) Skilled Nursing Healthcare Unit, a 40-bed Assisted Living Unit, and 34-bed Memory Support Unit. Additionally, our Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) has been recognized as a “Best” senior living community. We are looking for passionate, highly qualified full-time RN House Supervisor (11A-7P) to join our Skilled Nursing Healthcare and Assisted Living/Memory Support Teams to deliver excellent care for our residents. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of five (5) years of long-term care nursing experience as well as at least three (3) years of nursing supervisory experience. Requirements

Current Virginia RN license required.
At least five (5) years of progressively responsible nursing experience in the Assisted Living/Memory Support and/or Long-Term Care with at least three (3) years of supervisory/Lead experience is required.
Valid Adult CPR, BLS/AED Certification required.
Strong leadership skills required as demonstrated by the ability to successfully work well with multiple levels of staff and leadership.
Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
Must be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
Must demonstrate a genuine desire to work with the elderly and/or disabled.
Must be able to exert a minimum of 50 lbs. of energy in order to assist elderly in and out of wheelchairs, beds, etc., as well as be able to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, turn, bend, stoop, crouch and kneel, balance and maintain body equilibrium to prevent falls, reach over the head, push/pull, and grasp with both hands.

Nice To Haves

ISP/UAI certification preferred.
Experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervise delivery of excellent nursing care by staff ensuring accurate, timely treatment, medication administration, and documentation, in compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and guidelines.
Provide direct care of residents as needed, conduct admissions and discharges. Ensure timely and accurate treatment, medication administration, and documentation. Observe residents for change in condition and report any changes to Physician, Unit Manager and/or Director of Nursing.
Conduct admissions and discharges for residents according to facility procedure. Conduct nursing audits to include weekly chart audits, monthly summaries, and other audits as assigned in the Healthcare and AL/MS units.
Make rounds on all care units to ensure staffing patterns are adequate per census/state regulations and that members of the healthcare staff are compliant with providing resident care per Harbor’s Edge policy and procedures and state/federal regulations.
Participate in variety of resident care meetings: Care plan and family meetings with members of the interdisciplinary team.
Verify emergency equipment is in working order. Respond to E- calls, as assigned. (Responding to all units)
Conduct variety of nursing audits including weekly chart audits and monthly summaries.
Ensure proper coordination with the Medical director, physicians, staff, residents/families, consultants, vendors, etc.
Coordinate nursing services with other resident services, to ensure the continuity of the residents' total regimen of care.
Assist in investigation of incidents and complete all applicable documentation.
