The RN Supervisor for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic will supervise the day-to-day operations for nursing staff and nursing activities, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures. This role involves overseeing care for clinic patients of all ages, improving clinical patient care processes, and maintaining effective working relationships with patients and staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
  • Three years' experience as a registered nurse (RN) in a clinical role preferred.
  • Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Thorough knowledge of the nursing practice act and standards of nursing care.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred.
  • Experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the day-to-day operations for nursing staff and nursing activities.
  • Implements established performance improvement policies and trains employees on these policies.
  • Coordinates care, patient assessment, patient education, triage, and various other nursing interventions.
  • Collaborates with inter-professional colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate care.
  • Maintains current certifications in specialty and continues education as necessary.
  • Participates in reviewing results of clinical performance assessments and recommends process improvements.
  • Assists in conducting new staff training and orientation regarding operating rules and working standards.
  • Monitors inventory levels and supplies for the department.
  • Communicates clearly and maintains confidentiality.
  • Reacts calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
