About The Position

Provides supervision of nursing, technical and/or support staff and coordinates daily operations, 24 hours a day. In collaboration with the Staff Nurse and other department supervisors, implements departmental and ACF policies and procedures, maintains standards of care and nursing practice, and monitors and improves the quality of nursing services. This position is responsible for teaching Home Health Aide classes and signing off on Home Health Aide Competencies.

Requirements

  • A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Bachelor's in nursing or evidence of planned completion within two (2) years.
  • Three (3) years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse License.
  • A minimum of one year of RN experience in an ACF with demonstrated ability to teach adult learners as evidenced and documented.
  • Must have completed a professionally recognized course in teaching adult learners or have a NYS Education Department Teacher Certification – or – 2 years experience teaching nursing or nursing related programs to adults in an academic setting approved by the State Education Department.
  • Or, 2 years of experience teaching Home Health Aides in a residential health care facility.
  • Must possess UAS Certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s in nursing.
  • Previous experience in relevant nursing practice setting.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role.
