About The Position

The RN Supervisor (Direct Care) at Lafayette Manor Nursing home plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the delivery of high-quality nursing care within a healthcare setting. This position is responsible for supervising and mentoring nursing staff to ensure compliance with clinical standards and regulatory requirements. The RN Supervisor coordinates patient care activities, manages staffing schedules, and facilitates communication between interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. They also serve as a key resource for clinical decision-making and problem-solving, ensuring that care plans are effectively implemented and adjusted as needed. Ultimately, this role ensures that patients receive compassionate, safe, and effective nursing care while fostering a supportive and efficient work environment for the nursing team.

Requirements

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.
  • Minimum of 1 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a direct care setting.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing principles, patient care standards, and healthcare regulations.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or higher.
  • Advanced certifications such as Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML) or similar.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare technology.
  • Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies and patient safety initiatives.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and team-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support nursing staff in the delivery of direct patient care, ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards.
  • Coordinate daily nursing operations, including staff scheduling, workload distribution, and resource allocation to maintain optimal patient care coverage.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide coaching, and facilitate professional development opportunities for nursing personnel.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and quality indicators, initiating corrective actions when necessary to improve care delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures.
  • Lead and participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives to promote best practices.
  • Respond promptly to patient and family concerns, escalating issues as appropriate to maintain satisfaction and safety.
