About The Position

The position is for a full-time role in the Emergency Department at Atrium Health Anson. The role involves supporting the manager in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and service delivery. Responsibilities include assisting with the interview and selection of nursing personnel, coordinating communication among staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, rounding on patients and staff, delegating care tasks, and evaluating progress towards care goals. The position also requires performing nursing care and managing patient flow and staffing based on needs.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current RN licensure in the appropriate state.
  • Minimum two years nursing experience preferred.
  • Previous management experience preferred.
  • BSN required.
  • RN candidates without a BSN must be enrolled in a BSN program within 1 year of hire/transfer and complete it within 3 years.
  • BLS required per policy guidelines.
  • Professional certification required within 1 year of eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Support the manager in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and service delivery.
  • Assist with interview, selection, and supervision of nursing personnel.
  • Coordinate communication among staff through meetings and huddles.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and healthcare regulations.
  • Round on patients, teammates, and physicians to assess satisfaction and care appropriateness.
  • Delegate care tasks to appropriate healthcare workers.
  • Assist in identifying expected outcomes for continuity of care.
  • Evaluate progress towards goals and disseminate information to teammates.
  • Perform nursing care, assist with treatments, therapies, and administer medications.
  • Manage patient flow and staffing based on volume and acuity needs.
