The RN Student Summer PCA position involves working under the direction of licensed personnel to assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and eating. This role also includes taking patients' vital signs like temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Strong patient/customer service skills.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
Proficient computer skills to work efficiently with electronic medical records.

Nice To Haves

Basic Life Support [BLS Certification]
Certified Medical Assistant [National Certification]
Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic [Massachusetts]
Nursing Assistant [LNA - New Hampshire]
1-2 years of experience working in patient care/elder care

Responsibilities

Assist patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
Assist with taking patients' temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
Perform vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame and/or as requested.
Complete all documentation in the medical record as required.
Interact with patients and their families effectively.
Help patients with basic hygiene tasks, including bathing and dressing, assisting with toilet use, and feeding.
Assist with helping patients turn and reposition themselves in bed as needed and move between the bed and a wheelchair.
Listen to any health concerns patients may have and report those concerns to the nurses.
