Enhance your nursing education through the Ortonville Area Health Services Student Nurse Internship Program. Interns will experience the day-to-day life of a RN in a vast variety of roles and settings. This hands on internship will expand clinical skills and knowledge under the guidance of an experienced nurse preceptor. This is a great opportunity to grow and continue learning while you are on summer break from your nursing program and to strengthen clinical skill sets. Ortonville Hospital RNs support a variety of patient populations to include OB, medical/surgical, outpatient, critical care, ambulance transfers, and ER patients. The paid internship will run from June 1st through August 15th. The intern will be scheduled for 2 twelve- hour shifts per week (48 hours per pay period); option to work weekends. Purpose/Goals of Student Nurse Intern Program: · Provide a learning experience designed to help develop confidence and competence in senior nursing students that will help create a smooth transition into the RN role after graduation. · Serve as a recruitment opportunity with the intent of retaining the most promising Nursing interns to join our organization as Registered Nurses upon graduation. Student Qualifications: · Nursing students enrolled in an accredited two-year or four-year RN program and have completed his/her first year of nursing program are eligible to participate. Interns are OAHS employees during this experience.
