We are seeking an experienced RN to join the Cath Lab team, supporting our structural heart program in the hybrid OR. This role involves caring for patients undergoing complex cardiac procedures and working closely with physicians and a highly skilled interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment where strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and adaptability are essential. The Invasive Cardiovascular Laboratory focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of adult patients with acquired cardiovascular disease and structural or congenital heart disorders. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care from initial introduction to final send-off, interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors to enhance their experience and provide education as needed. A caregiver in this position works days from 6:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. There are no weekends and no call.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Certification within six months of hire
  • One year of recent experience as an RN OR Licensed RN with at least two years of LPN experience within the same Cleveland Clinic procedural department may substitute for required RN experience

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of recent experience as an RN
  • For Cardiac Catheterization or other related procedural areas, one year of critical care experience in a hospital setting
  • Prior cardiac OR or Cath Lab experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in various healthcare settings.
  • Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
  • Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
  • Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications.
  • Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.
  • Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.
  • Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.
  • Educate patients and families.
  • Cover other nursing roles in the department.
