About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General Emergency Dept is hiring for a Registered Nurse for a Temporary Traveler Position for ED Holds caring for Stepdown/PCU level patients! This position offers $70 per hour for Day Shift. Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is a 525-bed tertiary care facility that is home to the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads, and also serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School. The hospital specializes in various fields including heart and vascular, neurosciences, neurosurgery, urology, oncology, spine care, advanced imaging, behavioral health, maternity, and women’s health, including a state-of-the-art neonatal intensive care unit.

Requirements

• Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required.
• Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ACLS certification.
• Must have 2 or more years of recent acute care hospital RN Stepdown/PCU experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for Stepdown/PCU level patients in the Emergency Department.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient conditions and report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
• Educate patients and families on health management and care plans.
