The Perioperative RN is responsible and accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame and to provide care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members. The Perioperative RN is accountable for planning & directing the care of every patient undergoing operative & invasive procedures and directs & supervises the surgical team members.

Requirements

• Graduate from a NLN accredited school of nursing.
• Current LA RN license.
• BLS required or obtained during orientation.
• ALS required within 6 months of hire.
• Able to work flexible shifts and take call according to unit specific standards.
• Current BLS and ALS certifications through any ILCOR provided courses.
• One year Surgery RN experience required; minimum of two years’ Surgery RN experience preferred.
• Acute Care facility, surgery experience preferred.
• CNOR Certification preferred.
• Must be available in-house within 30 minutes when on call.

Nice To Haves

• Two years’ Surgery RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities
