RN Staff Nurse - Elective Ortho PACU - Full-Time

About The Position

A registered professional nurse employed by EMC in the Erlanger Orthopaedic COE Preoperative/Recovery Unit is responsible for all aspects of direct and/or indirect care of the perioperative phase of the surgical experience. The Registered Nurse must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age specific appropriate to the age specific care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the Preoperative and PACU. The individual must demonstrate the knowledge to Administer pharmacological drugs as ordered, perform procedures and operate equipment necessary for patient care as assigned. Must posses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify patient's perioperative and post operative plan of care. Individual must have the abilities to communicate effectively with staff physicians, and other departments concerning all aspects of patient care.

Requirements

Graduate from and accredited School of Nursing.
Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills
Knowledge of organizational functions, policies and regulations
Knowledge of current trends and new developments
Knowledge of principles and practices of nursing, applicable to those areas requiring special education
One (1) year experience
Current licensure to practice Nursing in the State of Tennessee
BLS completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward
ACLS and PALS to be completed within 6 Months of hire date.
Completion of 8 Hours of Erlanger Online Education specific to Total Ankle, Hip, Knee and Shoulder Replacement
Completion of 4 of these hours as Erlanger Online Education upon hire (EOLS's and other training will be assigned by Department Leadership and/or Educator).
Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.
