About Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center: Located in vibrant Northwest Portland, Legacy Good Samaritan is known for its cutting-edge care in cancer, neurology, kidney transplantation, and more. Cancer Institute Medical Oncology & Infusion: Our Cancer Care Unit is the only inpatient cancer department at Legacy Health and the oldest Cancer Network on the West Coast. We care for complex surgical cases, medical oncology, end-of-life/palliative care, autologous stem cell transplantation, and gender affirmation surgeries. Our team is diverse, supportive, and dedicated to continuous excellence in cancer care. Your Role as an RN: As part of our healthcare team, you'll provide compassionate care, collaborate with specialists, and make a lasting impact on patients' health and well-being. You'll be involved in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in partnership with interdisciplinary teams. Relocation assistance available for nurses new to Legacy!

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program as required by licensure.
  • At least one year of nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program (or equivalent program).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to connect effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to navigate and utilize electronic health systems.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities — because in this role, every day is different, and your expertise will make all the difference.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Nice To Haves

  • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) is strongly preferred. If you’re working towards your BSN, we encourage you to apply!
  • Acute care experience preferred, this unit will train nurses that have a strong desire to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

  • Provides patient care within an assigned department/unit
  • Functions as a member of the health care team in collaboration with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee
  • Adheres to the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse
  • Performs all aspects of the nursing process:
  • Assesses, analyzes, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care
  • Follows established patient care standards set by Legacy Health System, including standards for patient assessment & patient transfer.
