About The Position

A registered professional nurse employed by Erlanger Medical Center is responsible for direct and/or indirect care of the patient. Performs the functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of the patient receiving Same Day Surgery, Out-patient Medications/Procedures and/or Endoscopy services during his/her shift. Responsible for meeting the established standards of nursing practice for assigned patients, for managing supplies, medications and equipment in the department, and for promoting teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments. Able to function independently with only occasional or limited supervision. Provides age appropriate care to assigned patients in the department. Must be self-motivated, flexible to accommodate daily schedule changes, and able to provide 'on-call' coverage. Supports the Mission, Vision and Value Statements of Erlanger Medical Center and complies with DNV requirements as outlined by policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.
  • Current, unrestricted North Carolina RN licensure or Multi-State Nursing Compact Licensure.
  • BLS completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward.
  • ACLS certification.
  • Thorough knowledge of the nursing process.
  • Ability to provide basic nursing care to patients.

Nice To Haves

  • One year medical/surgical acute care experience.
  • Surgical or special procedure experience.
  • Good communication skills and interview techniques.

Responsibilities
