About The Position

The Legacy nursing philosophy centers on patients and their families, with nurses acting as advocates, communicators, problem-solvers, and caregivers. Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center is a full-service medical center in the South metro area, offering the feel of a community hospital with extensive services. Specialties include stroke, chest pain, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, cancer care, orthopedic and total joint surgery, a birth center, and a breast health center. Legacy Meridian is Stroke certified by the Joint Commission and the American Stroke Association. The 24/7, 17-bed Emergency Department, remodeled in 2015, serves approximately 37,500 adult and pediatric patients annually from five counties. Additionally, a 10-room Ambulatory Care Unit operates from 11 am to 11 pm.

Requirements

• Current applicable state RN license required
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers
• One-year registered nursing experience or completion of either the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program that is equivalent in content, curriculum and duration
• Demonstrated ability of positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians and the community
• Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions

Nice To Haves

• BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred
• Emergency RN experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Responsible for patient care within an assigned department/unit
• Participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee as defined by the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse
• Assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for Legacy Health System including those for patient assessment and transfer
