The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct and/or indirect care of patients. The RN must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures. The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct and/or indirect patient care in the Cardiac Cath Lab. Assesses patients, administers pharmacological drugs as ordered, performs procedures, operates equipment necessary for assigned patient care, and assists physician with procedures. The RN must be familiar with sterile technique, Cath lab equipment, procedures and radiation safety. The RN must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the Cardiac Cath Lab. The RN must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the Cardiac Cath Lab's policies and procedures.
