JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS Scheduled Weekly Hours: TBD Work Shift: 7am-7pm PRN (as needed) including holidays and weekend rotations JOB SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse is responsible for the coordination of clinical activities for the patient. Activities include, but are not limited to, use of the nursing process in the utilization of skills in organization, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing care as it relates to the specific needs of the patient. Registered Nurses work within the framework of the State Nurse Practice Act and follow hospital policies and procedures. The Registered Nurse also complies with hospital and nursing standards in the performance of job duties and responsibilities. The Registered Nurse will support the goals and objectives of the department and of the hospital. Supervises the activities of the scheduler(s).

Requirements

  • Current Louisiana RN licensure.
  • Current BLS, ALS certifications through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.
  • ALS certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification required or within 6 months of hire
  • Applicant must demonstrate above average communication, planning, and organizational skills as well as above average venipuncture skills.
  • Computer knowledge required.
  • Weekend, holiday, schedule coverage required as necessary.
  • Must possess good physical health.
  • Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time.
  • Lifting at least 50 pounds is required.

Nice To Haves

  • RN with at least 2 years chemotherapy administration experience preferred.
