Requirements

• Successfully completed Board Certified Nursing Program.
• Current LA RN licensure.
• One year of experience in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) preferred.
• BLS required upon hire, PALS and NRP required within 90 days of hire.
• Certifications may be through any International Liaison Committee on resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical activities for Pediatric Intensive Care patients.
• Utilize nursing process skills in organization, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing care.
• Supervise activities of Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Assistants, and Certified Nursing Assistants.
• Comply with hospital policies and procedures and the State Nurse Practice Act.
• Support the goals and objectives of the department and hospital.
• Float among NICU and Pediatrics as needed.
