The Clinical Decision Unit is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals requiring close monitoring and treatment. The CDU functions as a bridge between the emergency department and medical-surgical floors. This position requires acute clinical judgment, fast-paced decision-making, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Successfully completed Board Certified Nursing Program.
• Current LA RN licensure.
• Current BLS certification through ILCOR provided courses.
• Excellent computer skills required.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and meet holiday and weekend requirements.

Nice To Haves

• ALS encouraged.
• Basic EKG encouraged within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical activities for Medical/Surgical patients.
• Utilize nursing process skills in organization, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing care.
• Supervise activities of Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Assistants, and Certified Nursing Assistants.
• Comply with hospital policies and procedures and nursing standards.
• Support the goals and objectives of the department and hospital.
