About The Position

Texas Oncology is looking for a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team! This position will support San Antonio, Tx. This is a full-time Monday-Friday hours (8 or 8:30am-5pm) position with no weekends, call, or major holidays. Texas Oncology is the largest community oncology provider in the country and has approximately 600+ providers in 220+ sites across Texas and southeastern Oklahoma. Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
  • Willing to consider an entry, mid, or senior level candidate.
  • Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Assess health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
  • Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
  • Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
  • Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart.
  • Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre-testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments for patients.
  • Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient's chart.
  • Facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care.
  • Assist patients in locating available community resources.
  • Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
