Nice To Haves

  • ONCC Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Certificate for RNs administering chemotherapy.
  • APHON Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider card within 12 months of hire for RNs administering chemotherapy for oncologic indication within the pediatric setting.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) for ICU, ED, PACU, Endo, Tele, OB, MHN Pre-Op and Specialty Procedural areas.
  • PALS for Pediatric areas with the exception of NICU.
  • NRP certification for NICU within 30 days from date of hire for RNs coming from a non-NICU background.
  • Certification in Fetal Monitoring for L&D RNs must be completed prior to completion of job orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including disposition, referral, and spiritual and/or psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of the patient and/or family and provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
  • Monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
  • May precept student nurses and new hires.
