About The Position

Registered Nurse will possess specialized knowledge and skills to provide patient-centric care to patients in a physician's office setting. Will provide clinical nursing assessment, act as patient care advocate, provide support, counseling and education to patients. Will be responsible for patient case management and/or perform specialized procedures. Will work in collaboration with other health care providers and ancillary services. Will direct clinical staff and maintain mandatory regulatory institutional policy and procedures under the direction of the Manager/Medical Director. May be required to float to other UFHP practices, as needed, for staffing. The Licensed Practical Nurse will focus on providing high level patient-centered care in a physician office setting by measuring and recording vital signs, placing patients in exam rooms, preparing patients for exams/procedures, assisting the health care provider with exams/procedures, providing patient support during exams, maintaining medical supply inventory, and stocking exam rooms. The LPN will also provide patient care by administering medications, processing patient phone calls per practice protocols, instructing patients regarding health care and treatments, and providing health care provider with information pertaining to patients’ health status. May be required to float to other UFHP practices, as needed, for staffing.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • One year of specialty experience or two years of ambulatory care or hospital-based experience preferred
  • Current licensure by the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support certification required or obtained within the first month of employment. BLS certification must be obtained through AHA or Red Cross
  • Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida
  • AHA or Red Cross Basic Life Support (CPR) is required or must be obtained within first 90 days of employment
  • Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR)
  • Must successfully complete medication test within 30 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in area of specialty preferred
  • One year of ambulatory care or hospital experience preferred
  • Proven ability to multitask, problem solve and be a team player is essential
  • Outstanding patient/customer service skills, verbal clarity, exceptional cognitive abilities, team focus, and problem-solving skills are required for the ideal candidate
