About The Position

This full-time opportunity offers 40 hours per week, full benefits, and a convenient day shift schedule. There is an opportunity for overtime and to cover various shifts if interested. Wellington Regional Medical Center is located in Wellington, Florida. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (A.D., Diploma, B.S.N., or Master's Degree in Nursing).
  • Current registered nurses license in the State of Florida.
  • Minimum of two (2) years Critical Care/IR experience preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS.
  • Willingness to be cross-trained to other areas.
  • Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible and accountable for all nursing care provided to patients.
  • Assist the cardiologist and other allied professionals in the assessment, planning, executing, and evaluating the care of Interventional patients.
  • Recognize the signs and symptoms of stroke and call a stroke alert overhead.
  • Perform and document the NIHSS, administration and monitoring of thrombolytic therapy if the patient is deemed a candidate.
  • Prepare the patient for Endovascular treatment as indicated.
  • Assume patient care of the stroke alert while in the Interventional Radiology Department.
  • Maintain currency in stroke knowledge by completing the NIHSS training and a minimum of 8 hours of stroke-related training annually.
