About The Position

PeaceHealth is seeking a RN - Special Care Nursery for a Full Time, 0.90 FTE, Night position. This is our Level 2 Nursery (not quite considered a NICU), and we care for babies 32 weeks and up. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $44.34 - $80.37. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. T may be more than one opening on this posting. Hiring bonus and relocation assistance may be available. Job Summary Provides professional nursing direct patient care inpliance with professional practice and unit standards. Promotes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families and all members of the care delivery team.

Requirements

  • Required: Degree from an Accredited School of Nursing
  • Required: Minimum one year of acute care neonatal experience required OR 6 months at a level 3 NICU or higher required.
  • Demonstratedpetence in area of expertise.
  • Required: Registered Nurse
  • Required: Upon Hire Basic Life Support
  • Required: NRP within six months of hire or transfer date
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs (Required)
  • Seemunity specific document for each Unit/Department required credentials (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family centered work environment (Required)
  • Able to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy and procedures (Required)
  • Basicputer skills (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Preferred: Specialty certification
  • Neonatal nursing experience in NICU preferred.
  • Additional experience in an inpatient women's and children's service line preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs.
  • Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
  • Directs and delegates care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstratedpetence.
  • Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
  • Participates in the development of and maintains established hospital policies, procedures and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Cross training into Postpartum and Pediatric unit required.
