About The Position

Mission Healthcare at Bellevue is hiring Registered Nurses to support their skilled nursing facility. The purpose of this position is to follow facility policies and procedures to implement a full medical and care plan for the residents of the Skilled Nursing facility. This will include following policies and procedures already established by the building, working with the physicians to follow orders for the care of the residents and coordinating with the care team to best care for the residents.

Requirements

  • Minimum ADN, BSN preferred
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) License, in good standing, in the State of Washington
  • (1) year minimum providing nursing services on the floor
  • Experience in post-acute care preferred
  • Proven track record in supervising staff on a care team
  • Proficient computer skills to manage the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Ability to manage information electronically and transfer records appropriately
  • Ability to work in an electronic environment
  • Sufficient experience with management tools to be able to understand staffing schedules and staff management
  • Refined deductive reasoning skills to be able to problem solve on shift
  • Must have valid driver’s license and dependable access to a vehicle for business use
  • Must be in good health and physically/mentally capable of performing assigned tasks
  • Working knowledge of personal computing and word processing software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows

Responsibilities

  • Follow established standards of nursing practices to implement facility policies and procedures related to medication and treatment administration per the doctors’ orders
  • Interpret existing policies and procedures, physician’s orders, state and federal guidelines to maximize the health status of each patient
  • Assist in communicating appropriate actions to members of the care team, appropriate related parties, and facility management staff
  • Administer medications per physicians’ orders to patients in a safe, accurate and timely manner
  • Monitor patients and report vital signs and status via the healthcare chart
  • Report adverse effects and reactions to appropriate party
  • Notify physician, as necessary, of changes in patients’ conditions, weight, medication errors, medication not available, abnormal laboratory/X-ray results and any other unusual observations
  • Record all physician orders and communications and report to appropriate person(s) per facility policy
  • Complete all documentation related to the patient’s care plan and health status
  • Complete and document comprehensive assessments of patient needs and health status per facility policies
  • Follow comprehensive care plans related to all health conditions based on each patient’s needs and his/her comprehensive assessment as assigned
  • Identify safety hazards and initiate corrective action immediately
  • Follow facility Patients’ Rights policies and procedures
  • Participate in facility education and in-service programs
  • Attend staff meetings, interdisciplinary team meetings, rehabilitation meetings and committee meetings as assigned
  • Assume responsibility for compliance with federal, State and local regulations within the assigned unit
  • Perform comprehensive assessment of patients as assigned
  • Promptly report changes in patient conditions to the Charge Nurse, Director of Nursing and responsible party
  • Take follow-up action as necessary
  • Competently perform nursing tasks
