Job Description: The RN Shift Coordinator will provide support and will work collaboratively with the Clinical Manager and the Director. The Shift Coordinator will hold staff accountable and provide feedback to Clinical Manager. The Shift Coordinator is an extension of the Clinical Manager and is empowered to address issues and concerns during scheduled shifts. This staff member will work 1/3rd of scheduled shifts in staffing Essential Functions: Under the direct supervision of a Clinical Manager, this position will provide shift coordination support and: Assists with staffing and scheduling Improves patient experience by rounding on patients and providing service recovery during scheduled shifts Ensures compliance with metrics Acts as a resource for staff Participates in the staff interview process and retention of staff Provides feedback for and assists with the writing and delivering of performance reviews Provides coaching and counseling as appropriate Remains on-call for scheduled weekends to work Actively participates on unit committees and other unit meetings Shift Requirements: Shift Length (in hours): 12 hours/shifts vary # Shifts/Week: 3 shifts per week for a FT Employee Overtime Required: ☐ Infrequently ☒ Sometimes ☐ Often ☐ n/a (exempt position) Other Functions: Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times Performs other duties as assigned Additional Job Description: Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing (required) Experience: Three (3) years of clinical experience and additional experience as a Charge Nurse or other nurse leader (required) Licensure: Active Kentucky Registered Nurse License or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required) National certification in specialty or nursing administration (preferred) UofL Health is a fully integrated regional academic health system with nine hospitals, four medical centers, Brown Cancer Center, Eye Institute, nearly 200 physician practice locations and more than 1,000 providers in Louisville and the surrounding counties, including southern Indiana.
