About The Position

The RN Service Leader is responsible for identifying the patient's alterations in health, assessing the patient's human response to actual and potential health problems, implementing nursing interventions based on theoretical concepts from nursing and other arts and sciences to achieve outcomes for the patient that facilitate resolution of alterations in health and actual and potential health problems, determining the effectiveness of nursing interventions by evaluating anticipated patient outcomes as needed to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Whenever possible, the patient, the family or those significant to the patient are an integral part of the assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation efforts of the Registered Nurse. The RN Service Leader is responsible to supervise/direct care provided by Licensed Practical Nurses and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel. The Registered Nurse is responsible to assign/delegate care to other qualified members of the health care team. The RN coordinates care between other professional disciplines as needed. Unit-based activities which contribute to a positive work and professional environment are performed. Additionally, this role partners with the unit management in the achievement of a culture of excellence in professional nursing practice and patient care. The RN Service Leader collaborates with the nursing management to recruit, retain and contribute to the evaluation of team members to a specific service line.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an approved nursing program.
  • BSN must be obtained within 2 years of hire or as contracted by the AVP of PeriOperative Services.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in surgical services with a focus on the preferred specialty.
  • Demonstrates autonomous and accountable nursing practice.
  • Strong patient care outcomes management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Demonstrable leadership in patient care and unit-based outcomes.
  • Previous experience with multidisciplinary teams preferred.
  • Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Florida.
  • National nursing certification required.
