About The Position
Located in the central San Joaquin Valley, Adventist Health Selma has been serving the Central Valley since 1999. We are comprised of a 57-bed acute care hospital and six local medical offices. Selma is rapidly growing with nearly 25,000 residents offering a great cost of living and close-knit communities. Residents enjoy shopping and dining opportunities, museums, historic sites and churches, all within a family-friendly atmosphere. As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Room (ER), you will deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. This role involves supervising and directing the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, and coordinating care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment. You will be responsible for collecting relevant data pertinent to the patient's health or situation, analyzing assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues, and developing a plan that prescribes interventions to attain desired outcomes. You will implement the care plan, coordinate care delivery, and employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluating progress toward attaining outcomes is crucial, as is identifying outcomes for the patient or the patient's situation. Collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare providers is essential in providing patient care in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment. Additionally, you will provide learning opportunities for patients and family members, directly provide health information, and participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. Delegating appropriately and coordinating duties of healthcare team members will also be part of your responsibilities, along with performing other job-related duties as assigned.
