Join Baylor Heart & Vascular Hospital (BHVH) Dallas as a Registered Nurse and be part of something better! As a Registered Nurse, you will oversee patient care provided by the healthcare team using a professional practice model. Your responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. The patient population includes Post Cardiology Interventional, Post Vascular Surgical/Interventional, and Advanced heart Failure. This unit operates as a Cardiac Universal Bed (CUB) in that they have Cardiac ICU and Cardiac Telemetry patients. All nurses on the unit must be comfortable caring for both.

  • Conduct detailed clinical assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, create, implement, and evaluate care plans.
  • Build relationships, manage discomfort, and maintain professionalism in therapeutic connections with patients and families.
  • Create care plans reflecting values to aid in resolving issues.
  • Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices.
  • Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan, delegate tasks carefully, and follow up promptly.
  • Use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff.
  • Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
  • Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, and commit to growth.
  • Contribute to peers' development and show commitment to community service.
  • Minimum of 1-year recent, full-time Telemetry RN experience.
  • Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
  • Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common medications, and their side effects.
  • Exceptional communication skills, allowing for clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing.
  • Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, driving effective critical thinking.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.
