About The Position

Accompanies the physician and directly observes patient procedures with occasional directly assisting with patient care. Accurately documents the events and decision-making in a manner that results in appropriate procedure charting, including but not limited to, physical exams, diagnostic findings, lab and test results, consultations with other providers, diagnoses, discharge instructions and prescriptions. Complete clerical activities necessary to assist with the processing of physician orders for tests and medications. Also assist with completing prep work of patient's medical records pre-operatively. Responds to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol. Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities. Seeks and assists with other nursing duties as time permits. Maybe required to float to other areas of Surgical Services to assist.

Requirements

• Licensed RN in the state of Kansas.
• Basic computer literacy within a Windows environment.
• Keyboarding ability required.
• Experience using TruBridge, Athena, and ProVaton documentation software.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with nursing assessments and electronic MAR with bedside barcode scanning.
• Familiarity with Computerized Physician Order Entry.
