About The Position

The mission of Freeman Health System is to improve the health of the communities served through contemporary, innovative, quality healthcare solutions. The Prevention & Wellness/Screen Team visits local health fairs to administer blood draws, bone density screenings, body composition screenings, and more. Freeman Health System is the only locally owned, not-for-profit health system in the area, focusing on meeting the health and wellness needs of both the community and its employees. Located in Joplin, Missouri, Freeman is a 460-bed, three-hospital system that provides comprehensive healthcare services to over 450,000 people across Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. The system includes Freeman Hospital West, Freeman Hospital East, Freeman Neosho Hospital, Ozark Center (the largest provider of behavioral health services in the area), two urgent care clinics, dozens of physician clinics, and various specialty services.

Requirements

• Safe Sitter Instructor certification within one year of hire.
• Must pass DOT physical.
• Clean driving record.
• Current Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma Registered Nurse license or current Registered Nurse license from a compact state. If a compact license is held, it must be in the nurse's state of residence.
• Current Missouri Class E or other state's equivalent driver's license; or must obtain within 60 days of hire.
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers within 365 days.
• AHA BLS Instructor within 365 days.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with screen team activities such as: health fairs, teaching classes and other marketing functions that promote Freeman Health System.
• Acting as a lead phlebotomist, ordering supplies for the department, and maintaining all equipment.
• Modeling health, by maintaining an optimal level of personal health, a professional appearance and a positive attitude, consistent with the mission statement and goal of Freeman Health System.
