About The Position

The RN - Float/Resource position at St. Charles Health System involves providing quality patient and family-centered care as a member of the healthcare team. This role requires the nurse to function as a primary caregiver in various units at the Madras and Prineville campuses, including the Emergency Department and Medical/Surgical units. The Float/Resource RN is responsible for assessing patient conditions, implementing nursing actions, collaborating with other disciplines, and evaluating patient progress. The position emphasizes maintaining high standards of nursing practice, effective communication, and supporting the organization's mission and values.

Requirements

• Current Oregon RN license.
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification.
• ACLS within 60 days of hire.
• Previous critical care, step down unit, or Emergency Department experience.

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred.
• Department specific acute care certification (i.e. CEN, CCRN).
• Conscious sedation experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of nursing principles, practices, standards, and techniques.
• Assess the patient's condition and needs using critical thinking and clinical judgment.
• Calculate dosages and administer medications accurately.
• Document all patient care in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory agencies.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement and departmental activities.
• Communicate effectively with caregivers, medical staff, patients, and guests.
• Identify work-related problems and implement solutions within scope of practice.
• Support Lean principles of continuous improvement.
• Create a healing environment that supports all aspects of care.
• Provide a therapeutic presence in service to others.
• Deliver customer service and patient care in a timely and efficient manner.
• Perform stand by callback as assigned.
• Travel to other St. Charles Health System campuses for ongoing education and training as required.

Benefits

• Full-time employment with a pay range of $53.59 - $77.76.
• Variable schedule including every other weekend and holidays.
