RN Resident - Intermediate Cardiac Care

Participates in a residency core curriculum based on their individual learning needs. Provides direct nursing care, alongside a coach, in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Indian River Hospital's 3 South/3 North Intermediate Cardiac Care Unit is an inpatient unit that is dedicated to the care of cardiac patients who require a higher level of care than routine inpatient care, yet not to the degree of intensity of critical care. As an RN, you will deliver exceptional care, throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. A caregiver in this position works nights from 6:45PM - 7:15AM, with weekend and holiday requirements.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- One-year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider licensed military RN experience

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
