About The Position

Thank you for your interest in EvergreenHealth and in our RN Residency Program! The CVNS unit is an intermediate level of care unit between ICU and the general MedSurg department. All CVNS unit patients require continuous cardiac monitoring. The CVNS unit is our designated Stroke patient care unit. RN RESIDENCY PROGRAM DETAILS: EvergreenHealth's Residency Program consists of group practicums and lectures that support the graduate RN to mitigate the education-to-industry gap. We foster growth in the clinical, professional, and transitional aspects of professional nursing practice. The Residency program incorporates collaborative team support by managers, preceptors and clinical nurse educators. RN Residents require a Washington State RN license and an American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS card by your hire date. Requirements

  • Graduate of nursing program (Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required)
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington by start date.
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS- American Heart Association by start date.
  • Healthcare provider ACLS - American Heart Association completion during training
  • Able to start on August 3, 2026

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care and functions as a patient advocate.
  • Assesses the comprehensive nursing needs of an assigned group of patients.
  • Coordinates the patient and family/significant other education process.
  • Continuously plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, incorporating patient and family/significant other into the process.
  • Participates with physician partners and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient and family/significant other plan of care.
  • Communicates effectively all relevant information (e.g., patient information, safety issues, problems with equipment, quality issues, etc.) to immediate supervisor, in timely way.
  • Communicates and documents changes in patient condition, on a timely basis, to charge nurse/supervisor and physician.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
