About The Position

The RN Residency Program at Piedmont Healthcare is a 12-month comprehensive transition-to-practice program designed for new graduate nurses. It aims to facilitate their progress from student to professional nurse through education, mentorship, and peer support. The program includes precepted orientation and blended learning experiences, preparing residents to improve quality and safety at the point of care.

Requirements

• Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse
• BLS CPR certification
• Graduate of a nursing program
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• New Graduates of a nursing program eligible

Nice To Haves

• Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle using nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
• Maintain standards of practice and coordinate patient care activities of all assigned staff.
• Demonstrate professional growth and accountability in nursing practice.
• Develop clinical judgment to recognize changes in patient conditions and urgency of clinical situations.
• Cultivate excellent communication skills to engage with colleagues and support patients.
