The Registered Nurse Residency position in the Renal Unit at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is a full-time opportunity for passionate candidates seeking to make a meaningful impact in patient care. The position includes a comprehensive 12-month residency program designed to support newly licensed registered nurses in their transition to practice. The program features a clinical orientation, monthly workshops, and opportunities for professional development, all aimed at enhancing nursing skills and knowledge.

  • Provide nursing care to patients using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Direct and lead other assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care.
  • Address the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs of patients and their families.
  • Maintain a secure, therapeutic, and healing environment by respecting patient privacy and upholding professional behavior.
  • Communicate efficiently to facilitate information sharing within the care continuum.
  • Demonstrate professionalism by engaging in a professional practice model and participating in shared governance.
  • Advocate for patients in all care settings, ensuring their needs and rights are upheld.
  • Coordinate the effective and efficient delivery of patient care services.
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 1 year of hire for Adult Critical Care, Adult ED.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 1 year of hire for specific units.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Ability to provide direct and indirect patient care.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • $15,000 sign-on bonus eligible position.
  • Accrual of up to 25 days/year for PTO.
  • Education reimbursement of up to $2,500 per year for a bachelor's degree and up to $5,000 per year for a graduate degree.
