About The Position

Our Emergency Department provides comprehensive care for all ages, including stroke and heart services. The facility features 34 acute beds, 6 Super Track beds, and 4 Behavioral Health beds. Although it offers a welcoming, community-oriented atmosphere with personalized care and easy navigation, it provides advanced resources typically found in larger hospitals. As a designated stroke center, it manages most stroke cases on-site, while myocardial infarctions are treated with our interventional cardiology services. Smaller hospitals often need to transfer these patients, but we offer the specialized care they need right here. With over a century of community service, High Point Medical Center offers a comprehensive range of specialized care across 352 licensed beds, including renowned centers for cancer, joint replacement, heart and vascular, and more, serving over 600,000 people with a legacy of exceptional health services. This 24-week academy integrates didactic instruction, clinical experience, and simulations with engaging content, allowing nurses to master emergency care for both adult and pediatric patients. New Graduate RNs at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist receive supportive training led by dedicated nurse educators, including clinical orientation, specialty-specific learning, and skill-building in clinical decision-making, teamwork, communication, and career development. The New Graduate Nurse provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
